Fall has Arrived in Dillon!

My son has been after me to get fall decorations put up and it inspired me to dig out a project! It started with an old wooden rake I came across last year, and while cruising the interwebs found the idea to use it as a "wreath" type of decor for a front door.

I found some silk Chinese Lantern plants (one of my fall favorites!) at Alco and combined them with some wheat, twigs, etc that I had saved out of an old floral arrangement. Combine that with the beautiful burlap bow I got in my birthday flowers from my Mom + Sister this year and it was a quick + beautiful transformation!
We are enjoying the changing colors + mild weather around our area.

What do you love most about fall?

Before + After: Folding Stools

Everyone loves a good before and after story, so here is my latest project. I started with these great little folding stools that had been abandoned in the back of a storage shed.
I removed the old canvas (think lots of old rusty nails and staples!) and then chalk painted the wooden frames. With some help from my friend Katie Tackett of 28threads (you should most definitely check out her etsy shop here) new fabric panels were created and put into place!

I am so excited about how these little stools were transformed! I can just see them on a patio with fresh cut flowers or a cold drink resting on them.
What about next to a stuffed chair holding a basket of books?
How would you use them in your home?

Happy Junkin' -- Sarah

Adorable White Dresser

Hey all!  Sorry we have not shared any recent projects. I recently crossed off one of my bucket list items, and have been out of town for awhile. Now that you are wondering what that was...I was finally able to go to Las Vegas during the ACM awards. I don't know about all of you Dirt Road Decorators, but I LOVE country music. During ACM weekend, there is a series of concerts put on called Party for a Cause, which provides meals for hungry children.  Besides the great cause, my husband and I, along with two great friends were able to see artists such as: Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Chris Young, Hunter Hayes, and our new favorite Jon Pardi, in a three day time period. Just imagine watching country concerts from the time you wake up, until the you go to bed (at 2am!).  Exhausting, but AWESOME. Anyways, after getting back to the real world, I finished this adorable white dresser this week using Annie Sloan
"Old White" and the piece will be available this summer.

In other good news, our JunkFest application will be dropped off this week. Theme this year is  "Montana Style", and I think DRD has that covered.

Be Brave

Hey all! It has finally begun...Garage sale season. One of my favorite days of the week is Saturday, which includes driving around in the RAV, grabbing a City Brew Coffee, turning up the country, and searching for the next big deal. It is unbelievable to me what others get rid of for "dirt" cheap. This past Saturday, my husband and I found some great items. The "Be Brave" sign below was made out of an old cabinet shelf. All it needed was a little paint, and a fun design (it still needs a few rustic elements around the corners). This sign would look great in any office or baby room. Can't wait to see what a Dirt Road Decorator does with this piece. Oh, and stay tuned. Sarah and I will be posting our summer shows soon. We can't wait to see YOU and hear about what you have been doing this winter!

This sign makes me sing in my head "I wanna see you be brave"! ;)
